Department of Health Completes Phase One of TAMM System

7 Aug, 2018: Abu Dhabi – August 08, 2018: The Department of Health—Abu Dhabi (DoH), the regulator of the healthcare sector in Abu Dhabi, announced the successful completion of phase one of the Abu Dhabi Government Service’s integrated government project, “TAMM” system. The system has digitised key required documents including trade licenses, family books, passports and residency visas, transforming these paper documents into electronic data. Users will be able to access more than 49 e-services for DoH without presenting any physical documents.

  • The new system will facilitate 49 e-services and eliminate the need for paper documents

The new feature will be available amongst DoH’s key services including requests for birth certificates, health professional licensing, licensing renewals and transfers to other health facilities, and requests for patients to be treated abroad.

His Excellency Sheikh Abdulla Bin Mohamed Al Hamed, Chairman of Department of Health said: “This step is another milestone in DoH’s track record of maintaining exceptional services and further enhancing user experience, which falls in line with the Abu Dhabi Government Service initiative and vision.”

Al Hamed highlighted the importance of the role Abu Dhabi’s Smart Solutions and Services Authority (ADSSSA) played in supporting the system’s implementation across related entities and emphasised the importance of the ongoing development of the facilities and services for customers to embody the UAE leadership’s vision of delivering exceptional services and improving customer happiness.

Her Excellency Dr. Rauda Al Saadi, Director General of Abu Dhabi Smart Solutions and Services Authority, said: “Through the AD Connect initiative, ADSSSA aims to establish the principle of cooperation with all government entities for improving government performance and providing the highest level of government services in a flexible and innovative manner, to enrich the customer experience. This falls in line with the Abu Dhabi Government's vision to enhance the lives of the people and contribute to their prosperity and success, while reinforcing a highly conducive, economic environment.”

“The Authority remains steadfast in its commitment to support all government entities, thus contributing to the development of the government service delivery mechanism through a unified digital channel that allows customers in Abu Dhabi to complete a full range of government services and enable them to benefit from the latest technologies and digital innovations at the fastest time and with no effort included.” Al Saadi added.

According to this year’s first quarter statistics, DoH recorded a total requests of 17,796 birth certificates, 8081 health professional licensing renewals, 2,904 health professional new licenses, 2,437 health professionals’ licence transfers to another facility and 3112 abroad treatment requests. These requests normally required two mandatory paper documents, which will now be completely eliminated.

The integrated government project is the first-of-its-kind comprehensive work platform in the region that digitises paper documents and enables government entities in Abu Dhabi to seamlessly exchange individual, business data and government documents via secure channels.
