Facilitated by the Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology, the joint declaration marks a major milestone in the UAE's efforts to help promote sustainable industrial development globally and reflects the country’s emergence as an international industrial hub and leader in advanced manufacturing in line with Operation 300 billion.
The new UNIDO center in Abu Dhabi will be established to foster the readiness of industry as an essential component of a pandemic and emergency response. The project consists of three phases of design, piloting, and scaling-up.

The declaration was signed in the presence of His Excellency Dr Sultan Al Jaber, Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology, Her Excellency Sarah Al Amiri, Minister of State for Public Education and Advanced Technology, and Mansoor Ibrahim Al Mansoori, Chairman of the Department of Health. Our collective future readiness for crises and opportunities can be significantly enhanced through collaboration and the development and integration of 4IR solutions to increase sustainability, competitiveness, productivity and efficiency.”

The UNIDO International Centre for Industry Readiness will play a critical role in fostering the readiness of industries in responding to pandemics and emergencies.
