•Amongst the participants will be 20 speakers from internationally-recognised medical institutions
•The summit will feature speakers from the UAE, KSA, the UK, the United States, Sweden and other countries.

Abu Dhabi will host the first Healthcare Quality Summit next week, organised by the Department of Health – Abu Dhabi (DoH), the official healthcare regulator of the emirate. The summit will see more than 20 speakers and 400 participants from various countries across the globe come together to discuss the current and future state of quality in healthcare, whilst also collaborating on ways to encourage innovation in helping enrich patient experience. The event will take place on November 4 and 5 at Jumeirah at Etihad Towers.

DoH is organising the summit with the aim to reinforce Abu Dhabi's pioneering position on the global healthcare quality map by encouraging the role of research and innovation in improving the quality of healthcare services. This will lead to developing an action plan with an objective of overcoming the challenges facing the quality of health services which, as a result, will encourage the use of innovation in achieving safe and sustainable healthcare.

The summit will also provide a knowledge platform to connect healthcare leaders and medical practitioners from around the world, as the ideal setting to suggest new ideas focusing on strengthening local efforts to further enhance the quality of healthcare services. It will also be a venue for fostering effective and next-level suggestions to improve safety in healthcare.

Dr. Asma Al Mannaei, Director of the Healthcare Quality Division at DoH commented: "Abu Dhabi looks forward to providing a global platform that will serve as a meeting point for speakers, medical experts, and investors from around the globe to discuss best practices for enhancing the quality of healthcare services and knowledge exchange. The summit is also an opportunity for participants to showcase their medical suggestions and share new tips for improving the quality of their respective healthcare methods, thereby enhancing patient experience worldwide."

Dr. Mannaei added, "Abu Dhabi prioritises patient satisfaction; by working with prestigious international healthcare institutions to conduct pioneering medical research, and developing policies that contribute to improving the quality of healthcare services, DoH is encouraging the implementation of technology in further advancing the healthcare process in all aspects. I invite all healthcare professionals in Abu Dhabi, and the region, to attend the workshops and participate in the fruitful discussions, which will result in effective solutions that will advance the quality of international healthcare services that medical practitioners provide."

The two-day summit will see a range of themes being discussed within two categories: the first will focus on redefining healthcare through quality and innovation. The topics which will be analysed in depth will include: leadership in clinical trial innovation, quality governance, and ways to promote a culture of excellence in healthcare through AI.

The second theme will shed light on patient experience and medical error management. Under the umbrella of this theme, the speakers will highlight compassion in healthcare, sustainable healthcare practices, the importance of medical responsibility and more.

Finally, the summit will include a number of workshops exchanging knowledge on the best practices to improve patient experience and medical responsibility. Moreover, the event will see solutions regarding how to correctly publish details of quality improvement projects in internationally-recognised scientific journals and other topics.
